Owned & run by brothers Tom & James Bainbridge, The Tilbury offers an exciting British A la carte menu, an extensive wine list & great service. The A La Carte menu focuses on refined British cuisine and great flavour combinations while the pub menu offers classics like fish & chips. The comfortable pub can offer premium spirits, quality wines, interesting soft drink choices & a wide range of gins. Great service is led by Ellen & Adam who both have a wealth of experience & knowledge so you are sure to feel welcome. The kitchen is run by Tom, an accomplished self taught cook who has a passion for quality ingredients & experimenting with flavours. The large terrace and garden is perfect for those relaxed sunny days and with several areas to dine in, The Tilbury can offer private dining for special occasions & celebrations. The Tilbury has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for 9 years running & holds the prestigious AA Notable Wine List award.

Brothers Tom & James Bainbridge, owners of Bain & Bridges

Tom & James Bainbridge have been owners at The Tilbury since 2014.. James has a long background in hospitality having worked in many pubs, restaurants & hotels including the role within the management team at Heston Blumenthal’s 3 Michelin star The Fat Duck at Bray. Older brother Tom is a self-taught chef and is Executive Chef for the group, Bain & Bridges as well as being Head Chef at the Tilbury. The brothers have a passion for creating the perfect environment for their guests, with unique dishes made with the best ingredients, interesting wines to excite any palate & a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere.

Ellen | Restaurant Manager

Ellen joined us 8 years ago whilst still in education as a part time waitress. Over the years she has developed into a full time member of the team & now team leader in her role as Restaurant Manager where she has been looking after our guests & team for over 2 years. Ellen has excellent food & wine knowledge & a real passion for attention to detail and elevated service. Ellen has also developed her managerial skills with a Level 4 & 5 Operations Management course. She not only runs the restaurant and is a guest favourite but she is also a brilliant trainer for our younger team members as well as now managing our functions & events across both pubs.
